Month of Prayer at Hope Church – March 2021
We are setting aside the month of March to intentionally experience God by seeking Him through prayer. Prayer has the ability to impact your relationships, work, family, and every area of your life! Each day in March, those who sign up will receive a text message with a prayer prompt. Sign up by sending your name and mobile number to firstname.lastname@example.org.*
Day 31 – LOVE – 1 John 4:7-12
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
Holy God, as we approach Easter, help me to truly know the love that comes only from You. Thank you for sending your Son as a sacrifice for my sins. I pray that I will look to Jesus as my example for how to love others so that God’s love may be complete.
Day 30 – BELIEF – John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.
Father God, I pray that You would continually increase my belief. Give me the kind of belief that overflows. Help my life be one that allows others to see the joy that comes from knowing You as Savior.
Day 29 – HUMILITY – Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
God, today I choose to walk humbly with You. Help me live by Your Holy Spirit and follow Your lead. Help me hear You clearly, for I do not want to walk by pride or self-sufficiency. I want to walk with You.
Day 28 – COURAGE – Psalm 16:8
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Lord, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. When my problems and concerns become too much, when I am filled with anxiety or fear, help me know that You are with me. God, You are my rock, fortress, and deliverer!
Day 27 – WORSHIP – John 4:23-24
Jesus replied, “…Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
God, You are worthy of all our praise! Teach me to worship You in the Spirit and in truth!
Day 26 – DEVOTION – 1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Father, I look to You as my source of strength and courage. When I am tired and weak, open my eyes so I can see You working around me and in me. Build up my belief in You so that I may do all You call me to.
Day 25 – COMPASSION – 1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
Jesus, help us learn from Your perfect compassion for us so that we may extend understanding, care, and concern for others. When we see suffering, let us take action to help. Thank You for being gracious to us and empathizing with our weaknesses.
Day 24 – MERCY – Ephesians 2:4-5
But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
God, Your mercy is so great! Every time I turn away from You, You call me back again. Your unfailing love and compassion blot out my sin. Help me find peace and joy in showing mercy to others the same way You delight in showing mercy to me.
Day 23 – PROTECTION – Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Father, please protect those who are hurting or fearful right now. In the times I feel fragile, I pray I will remember that Your power, love, and light not only surround me but are in me. Thank you for being our source of refuge and comfort!
Day 22 – FORGIVENESS – Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And You forgave the guilt of my sin.
Lord, I seek forgiveness for my sin. I ask the Holy Spirit to search me and reveal where I have turned away from You. Help me confess my sins so that I may heal.
Day 21 – HOPE – Psalm 33:20-22
We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May Your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in You.
Our hope is in you, Father. You’ve always known what this year would hold. It’s easy to look around and lose heart. Teach us to look up and find You. The world is Yours–every nation, city, and person. Place our feet on the firm ground of Your truth. Fill us with the goodness of Your presence. Our hope is in You.
Day 20 – GOODNESS – 1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
God, it’s hard to admit how easy it is for cynicism and suspicion to creep into my mind. People disappoint me. Work leaves me unfulfilled. I let myself and others down. But You are light and there’s no darkness in You. I invite Your light into my life. I trust that when I feel let down, You are still at work and Your light still shines. I believe that You are good and that Your goodness reaches me.
Day 19 – COMFORT – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Father, You don’t miss my pain. You don’t meet me with shame. Instead, You are an ever-present source of comfort in all circumstances and situations. I come to You with confidence because I trust You at Your Word. Help me to see and meet others with comfort and compassion from the God who’s done the same for me.
Day 18 – WISDOM – James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
God, search my heart, my thoughts, and my actions and give me humility to joyfully admit where I need you. And in that, fill me with wisdom only You can provide. Do the same for my neighbors, local government, and for anyone who would come to You and ask.
Day 17 – JUSTICE – Proverbs 21:31
The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.
Only You, Lord, can give back what’s been taken and restore the world to its sacred purpose and design. When I desire justice, will you couple my desire with a deep trust in You? Help me to trust You and You alone for the outcome.
Day 16 – KINDNESS – Colossians 3:12-13
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
God, while tomorrow may look the same as today, let us not forsake kindness. Give us eyes to see one another with love. May my home and community be known for sharing Your love and kindness to all.
Day 15 – FAITH – Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.
Father, as my week begins, I thank You because You are my strength and shield. Thank You for being trustworthy and available to me. Help me reflect You to others. Let faith arise!
Day 14 – HOPE – Jeremiah 17:7
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.”
Lord, draw us to You and give us eyes to see as You do. Place our feet on the firm ground of truth. Fill us with the goodness of Your presence. Our hope is in You!
Day 13 – PATIENCE – James 5:7-8
Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.
God, I celebrate Your patience. Produce patience in me as I put my hope in You. Produce patience in our cities and nation as we put our hope in You!
Day 12 – HOLINESS – Isaiah 57:15
For this is what the high and exalted One says—He who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
Lord, while humankind is made in Your image, we reflect such a small piece of who You are. You are worthy of all our praise and glory! Help us remember the magnitude of who You are.
Day 11 – GENTLENESS – 1 Timothy 6:11-12
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Lord, help me envision what it would look like if I were gentler with my words and actions. Clothe us in gentleness and draw hearts to your own because of it.
Day 10 – MERCY – 1 Peter 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you
God, we have been born again! Your mercy reaches us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. I pray our nation would welcome Your mercy with humility and awe, and, in that light, we would grow in mercy toward one another.
Day 9 – JOY – Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Joy is a byproduct of the Spirit of God at work in my heart. God, I ask that You would draw my heart and the heart of this nation to You. I pray we would see joy increase and flow through one another, families, communities, businesses, and government.
Day 8 – STRENGTH – Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Lord, You give strength to face yesterday’s regrets, today’s to-dos, and everything tomorrow holds. My strength is no match for Yours, I will try to rely on You. May Your strength sustain leaders, health care workers, pastors, teachers, and all those who are in need.
Day 7 – HEALING – Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
Father, we humbly ask you to heal our hearts and land. So much seems broken. Help us to see your faithfulness.
Day 6 – GRACE – 2 Timothy 1:9
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time
Father, Your favor is given to me not because I deserve it, but because You desire me to have it. It’s amazing that You saved someone like me. Let me be more like You by providing unconditional love to those around me.
Day 5 – PEACE – Isaiah 26:3-4
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD Himself, is the Rock eternal.
Lord, teach me Your ways that I may be dependent on You. You are trustworthy.
Day 4 – UNITY – Psalm 133:1
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
God, may I find opportunities to build unity in my family, my church, and beyond. Give me eyes to see things as You do. Heal our hearts and land.
Day 3 – PRAISE: Psalm 34:1
I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
Father, I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You know me inside and out and You see me in all my highs and lows. You never leave me and I praise You for this!
Day 2 – HOPE: Isaiah 40:31
…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
God, it is easy to lose hope. Give me patience in the waiting. Give us courage and strength to rise above our present circumstances.
Day 1 – LOVE: Lamentations 3:22-24
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.”
The faithful love of the Lord never ends. Great is His faithfulness. His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lord, as this new month begins, let me be reminded of your faithful love for me. You know what this hour, this day, this week, and this month hold. May I not forget Your great love.
